Radial Renegade set to take off

By General Aviation News Staff · December 1, 2006 ·

Murphy Aircraft Manufacturing Limited of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada, has introduced the latest in its series of radial-powered airplanes, the Radial Renegade.

The Renegade is Darryl Murphy’s first design, and continues to be a favorite among kit-builders, with more than 700 examples sold. The new development includes the addition of a 110 hp, seven-cylinder Rotec 2800 engine. “With the radial up front, you have the lines of the classic biplanes of the Golden Age of aviation; and now you can have the reliability and safety of modern design,” Murphy says.

The original Renegade was powered with a much smaller engine, so the Radial Renegade features beefier construction and a specially-designed motor mount. Both open and cowled options are available.
