New door seals get FAA nod

By General Aviation News Staff · December 15, 2006 ·

Aero-PMA-Parts Co. has acquired FAA PMA approval for non-pressurized air chamber door seals.

The “twin-air-chambers” cushion and seal doors like an inflatable without the cost and mechanics of pressurizing the air chamber. Instead the non-pressurized air chambers allow the soft seal material to find the gaps in a door and then seal them.

The seal is installed on the door. Peel ‘n Stick makes installation fast and owner install approved. The twin chambers can be split into two separate chambers. This is useful for areas near door hinges where only one air chamber is needed, due to the tight fit near the hinges where the gaps are smaller. Three air chambers can be formed in the rear of the door, where gaps are widest.

All models of Piper, Beechcraft, Cessna and Mooney are approved.

Price: $99 per door kit or two for $175.
