Santa recently joined Don Campion, president of Banyan Air Services, in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of Banyan’s new 26,000-square-foot FBO terminal building at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport in Florida.
The two-story Key West-style FBO offers a much larger ramp, a 2,800-square-foot customer lobby complete with an 800-gallon salt-water aquarium, 30-foot palm trees, cascading water fall, plantation style paddle fans, and oversized windows for viewing incoming aircraft. Pilot amenities include three pilots’ lounges, separate full-sized bunk room, private mail boxes, crew shower facilities, business center, wireless Internet, weather flight room, baggage holding area and two conference areas.
To introduce the new facility, Banyan is planning an open house March 2-3, 2007. Banyan also will host the 11th Annual Challenge Air “Fly Day” on Jan. 27, 2007. This event offers approximately 150 disabled and seriously ill children from South Florida the opportunity to experience the wonders of aviation.
On Feb. 4, 2007, pilots flying passengers to South Florida for the Superbowl are invited to attend “Touchdown at Banyan,” which will be held in Banyan’s new 20,000-square-foot hangar and will feature a large screen television for viewing the game, a tailgating buffet, games and prizes, drawings every quarter, special grand prize drawing and sponsors activities.
