Georgia’s Newnan-Coweta Airportexpands with new development

By General Aviation News Staff · January 5, 2007 ·

Tradewind Aviation plans a 20-acre expansion development at Newnan-Coweta Airport in Newnan, Ga.

The development will include 178,000 square feet of hangar space and 36,000 square feet of office space. Tradewind is currently seeking corporate and aviation industry tenants for the build-to-suit development.

“The airport is committed to increasing aviation business and is in the process of installing an ILS,” said Chris Nadel, director of operations and development at Tradewind. “Newnan-Coweta Airport and the local government are focused on increasing corporate travel and business at this airport. Its proximity to downtown Atlanta and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport makes Newnan-Coweta Airport a natural choice for corporate travel and aviation industry-based companies to utilize, build or relocate.”

Newnan-Coweta Airport is approximately 35 miles southwest of Atlanta. The airport features a freshly resurfaced 5,500-foot runway and is equipped with localizer approach technology, charted and operating LPV approach system, GPS and VOR/DME A.
