Women in Aviatin slated to meet at Disney World

By General Aviation News Staff · February 2, 2007 ·

Before you can plan your future, you need to imagine it. That’s why “Imagining Your Future” is the theme of this year’s Women in Aviation Conference. The 18th annual event is slated for Feb. 15-17 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Attendees will be immersed in the tactics and strategies necessary for successful aviation careers. The event is part job fair, part networking seminar and part social event. More than 3,000 women and men from all facets of the aviation industry are expected to attend.

Attendees are encouraged to bring resumes and business cards because you never know when an opportunity will present itself to take that next career step, say Women In Aviation officials.

Among the invited keynote speakers are FAA Administrator Marion Blakey, USAF Thunderbird Pilot Major Nicole Malachowski, Bonnie Dunbar, president of the Seattle Museum of Flight, and Betty Hurig, chief pilot for Chevron Global Aviation.

There also will be several workshops and seminars on topics ranging from careers in aviation to recurrent training for maintenance technician to developing essential business skills.
