CubCrafters, manufacturer of the Top Cub and Sport Cub, has been awarded a Production Certificate from the FAA.
Receiving the certificate, only the second ever issued in the state of Washington, is a milestone for the company, according to Earl Barnes, director of quality assurance.
“While we are not yet quite as large as our jet-making friends over in Seattle, we now share a common FAA standard when it comes to quality, safety, manufacturing and the FAA’s view of our ability to build new aircraft repeatedly and to type design,” he said. “One reason Top Cub and Sport Cub are the industry leaders in their respective categories is because we have FAA-approved quality assurance oversight governing those programs.”
CubCrafters, founded in 1980 by current owner and CEO Jim Richmond, is located at Yakima Air Terminal/McAllister Field Airport (YKM) in Yakima, Wash.
