FSS CONTRACT: FIRST STEP TO USER FEES?

By General Aviation News Staff · June 22, 2007 ·

Everyone is up in arms about user fees. Where were you and others when the Flight Service System was being contracted out? That was the first step to to user fees.

It seems no one wants to admit that, but all of you cannot be so blind as to see where this is all heading.

After two years of Lockheed Martin controlling flight service it seems to be in shambles — long wait times, lost flight plans, bad equipment and calls being routed to not very knowledgeable briefers.

They also asked the FAA for more money ($177 million). Go figure — they said the FAA lied to them.

Why don’t you report on that? This situation has everything to do with the inevitable “user fees.”

You and all the other alphabet groups have yourself to blame!
