Aviation companies will try all sorts of things to get people to visit their booths at trade shows.
One of the more popular methods is the give-away. Pens, stickers and candy are popular. One of the more unusual giveaways comes from Mountain High Oxygen based in Redmond, Ore.
One of the edicts of the company is that it buys Oregon products first. When Patrick McLaughlin, the owner of the company, found a Willamette-based cottage industry that made fragrant soap, he figured out how to make it work to his advantage. He gave the soaps aviation names as a promotional idea.
So next time you’re at a show, stop by the company’s exhibit and pick up some IFR, Dust Devil or Oxygen soaps. Your copilot will appreciate it.
