AirVenture 2007: Our picks for the best of show

By General Aviation News Staff · August 24, 2007 ·

This year’s AirVenture was one of the busiest on record, with major product unveilings and announcements coming thick and fast throughout the week.

As veterans of the big show, GAN staffers were impressed by the huge crowds from day one. Also impressive was the obvious interest shown by everyone, from industry representatives to the media to pilots and airplane owners, in the new airplanes, new engines, latest avionics and ideas being floated for the future of general aviation. The past also got a lot of attention, with five rare airplanes battling for the title of “Best of the Best” at AeroShell Square.

Perhaps most noteworthy about this year’s show was the feeling of optimism that all seemed to share, even in the face of the user fee battle and rising fuel prices.

There was palpable excitement throughout the week, as all of GA celebrated the innovations that keep flying so much fun.

Watch in upcomimg issue as we bring you in-depth stories on the new airplanes and other products, as well as features on some of the classic aircraft that visited the show.
