KRNH completes runway extension, opens new FBO

By General Aviation News Staff · September 7, 2007 ·

New Richmond Regional Airport (KRNH), located in Wisconsin just minutes from Minneapolis/St. Paul, now has a 5,500-foot runway and a new 18,000-square-foot FBO building to serve the flying public.

A 1,500-foot runway extension project was completed in mid June.  The project also included additional ramp space, a full-length parallel taxiway with taxiway lighting and additional hangar pads for both private and corporate hangars. Long-term hangar space is now available for lease in several new corporate hangars, according to airport officials.

The new FBO facility, home to Strand Air Services, Inc. and a Life Link III Air Ambulance base, includes a 12,000-square-foot hangar with a 20-foot x 100-foot door with room for transient aircraft. It also includes a flight planning area, pilot lounge, sleeping room, vending area, conference room and restrooms, all open 24 hours a day.

Strand Air Services offers full-service fuel, courtesy and crew cars, rental cars, catering, GPU and aircraft maintenance, specializing in multi-engine and turboprop aircraft.

New Richmond Regional Airport is home to 185 based aircraft and 10 aviation-related businesses.
