Tutor.com, an online homework help and tutoring service, has partnered with Careers in Aviation and Jamail Larkins’ nationwide DreamLaunch Tour to help educate students about career opportunities in aviation.
Sponsored by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the DreamLaunch Tour opens students’ eyes to the myriad opportunities in aviation.
To help students realize their aviation dreams, Tutor.com is offering every student 50 minutes of free online math and science tutoring, and is giving away a $1,000 scholarship to a qualified middle or high school student. The scholarship entry is open through Oct. 2; applications can be found at CareersInAviation.org.
At age 14, Larkins followed his dream and became one of the youngest American pilots to fly solo in Canada. Now, 10 years and countless flights later, he travels the country to share his love of flying and shows students how to overcome obstacles in order to achieve their own dreams. His dream now is for students to realize the career opportunities available to them in the field of aviation. Mastering high level math and science principles is a must for students wishing to enter this dynamic field.
“Even at the age of 12 I knew I wanted to fly and be a part of the aviation industry, but I knew first I had to succeed in school, get a higher education, and then apply the lessons I learned in school to my business and career,” said Larkins. “I hope this scholarship from Tutor.com encourages young people to consider aviation as a career and help provide them with the valuable education they need to get there.”
