The Southwest Parade of Planes has been relocated to the Addison Municipal Airport (KADS) near Dallas for this year’s event, scheduled for March 26 to 28, according to Randy Bolinger of AMPT Associates, which organizes Parade of Planes events around the United States. The Southwest Expo will remain at Frederickburg, Texas, he said.
“This was a difficult decision on our part,” Bolinger stated. “Fredericksburg is a beautiful Texas Hill Country location known for its wineries, antiques and the famed Hangar Hotel, but the Dallas area is undeniably the heart of Texas aviation. Although we strive to vary locations each year, many of the exhibitors are based in the Dallas area and have requested that we return. And since the 2008 event in Addison was such a success – who could argue?”
The remaining dates and locations for the Parade of Planes are unchanged. They are:
Southwest, Addison Municipal Airport, Addison, TX, March 26-28
Midwest, New Century AirCenter Airport, Olathe, KS, May 14-16
Southeast, Gwinnett County Airport/Briscoe Field, Lawrenceville, GA, August 13-15
West, Hayward Executive Airport, Hayward, CA, October 15-17
The Parade of Planes “focuses on helping aircraft consumers shorten the purchase process by providing convenient access to popular aircraft, and the resources necessary to answer the complex finance, tax and insurance questions that arise in the sales process,” Bolinger said. “2009 will be particularly challenging for aircraft retailers and consumers,” he added. “Certainly there are going to be plenty of new aircraft sold but the competition for those sales will be stronger than ever.”
