Nine of general aviation’s leading manufacturers announced on Feb. 18 that they are launching the Florida Aircraft Expos, a series of events to provide would-be aircraft buyers opportunities to see and compare the latest models, in one day at one location.
Among the aircraft manufacturers scheduled to attend are Cessna, Diamond, Hawker Beechcraft, Husky, Liberty, Mooney, Piper, Remos and Socata.
The latest piston-engine personal and business aircraft will be on display at the first of 10 events in Florida, to be held February 28 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at SheltAir Aviation, at St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (PIE).
“These Expo events give serious aircraft shoppers a chance to compare all the latest models at an airport close to where they live,” said Fred Ahles, president of Premier Aircraft Sales, a participant in the events. “They can also talk to representatives from leading aircraft manufacturers including Beechcraft, Cessna, Liberty, Piper, Remos, and Socata.”
Along with new aircraft, attendees will have opportunities to talk with leading aircraft tax, insurance and training experts at various locations, Ahles said. Advocate Tax Consultants, an aviation tax advisement group, plans to hold aircraft tax seminars at most of the Florida Aircraft Expo events.
Ahles pointed out that the Florida Aircraft Expos are part of the series of Aircraft Expos to be held throughout Florida, Texas and the Southeast. Other Florida Aircraft Expo sites include Orlando, Daytona Beach, Miami, Broward, Palm Beach and Collier counties.
