Rhett Ross, president of Teledyne Continental Motors (TCM), will be the featured guest speaker at the regular bi-monthly meeting of the Atlanta Aero Club scheduled for March 12. His topic will be the challenges ahead for general aviation piston aircraft.
Ross, who became president of TCM in 2007, has 21 years of mechanical and nuclear engineering management experience and was president of Teledyne Energy Systems before moving to TCM. He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy’s submarine service with responsibility for reactor operations.
As President of TCM, Ross is responsible for Piston Aircraft Operations in Mobile, Alabama, where aircraft engine operations date back more than 95 years. They range from Continental’s early A-70 radial to the engines for the Voyager, which circumnavigated the globe without refueling. Today, TCM supplies engines to many new piston-powered OEM aircraft as well as aftermarket aircraft applications.

The meeting is scheduled for Noon on March 12 in the Grand Ballroom of the Capital City Club, 7 Harris St., downtown Atlanta. The cost is $40 for members and $45 for non-members and includes lunch.
The Atlanta Aero Club was founded in 1984 and is one of the oldest continuous operating aviation clubs in the US. With nearly 250 members, the Atlanta Aero Club is a member of the National Aeronautics Association (NAA) and all paid members are afforded NAA membership. The Club meets bi-monthly at the Capital City Club and regularly invites key aviation business leaders as guest speakers.
