McGill named flight instructor of the year for Western Pacific Region

Chuck McGill was recently named by the FAA as the Western Pacific Region 2009 CFI of the Yearchuck-beside-his-t-210.

McGill, who has been teaching for more than 28 years, has logged more than 11,000 flight hours. He holds the designation of Master CFI and has served as a volunteer safety counselor for the FAA San Diego FSDO for more than 20 years.

Based at Montgomery Field in San Diego, McGill also teaches courses for the Mooney (MAPA) Safety Foundation and the Cessna Pilot’s Association. He specializes in advanced avionics training (Garmin G1000, GNS530/430, etc.) and type training in the Cessna 210 Series aircraft and late model Mooney Acclaim, Bravo, Ovation and “252” aircraft.
