Wipaire, Inc., describing itself as “the world’s leading manufacturer of aircraft floats,” is offering three paid internships for this summer. They are open to current students or recent two-year or four-year college graduates whose field of study is aviation-related.
Three tracks will be offered: operations, sales, and maintenance.
The internships offer “valuable, career oriented experiences at one of the top general aviation companies in the nation,” said Wipaire’s Rachel Norman. “Interns have the opportunity to assist with trade shows and company events, development and implementation of new programs, and play an active role in team projects,” she explained.
Information about the internships, with an application packet, can be found at www.wipaire.com. The application deadline is March 31, Norman said.
Wipaire was founded in 1960 at Fleming Field, South Saint Paul, Minn. “From humble beginnings it quickly grew into a multi-faceted aviation company, manufacturing Wipline float models for aircraft ranging from the Piper Cub to the deHavilland Twin Otter,” Norman said. “Their creations also include the Fire Boss modification for aerial firefighting and Wipline Airglide Skis for many aircraft. Wipaire holds more than 100 supplemental type certificates and houses full-service maintenance, luxury refinishing, and cutting edge avionics facilities,” she said.
Plenty of interesting opportunities for the interns, it appears.
