Ram Air Recovery System approved

By Janice Wood · March 10, 2009 ·

americanaviapressphoto The FAA has approved the installation of the new Ram Air Recovery system from American Aviation on a stand-alone basis.

Before, the system also required installation of the company’s Pitot Cowling System, which required additional installation time and painting.

The new system offers an additional 50 to 75 foot-pounds of torque depending on the aircraft model, the altitude, and the atmospheric conditions, according to company officials.

In addition to improving climb performance, the system also results in additional range at the aircraft’s maximum cruising speed because this speed can now be obtained at a higher altitude.
