Website for aircraft buyers launches

By Janice Wood · March 11, 2009 ·

A new website, PreferNo.com, recently launched, aimed at buyers of unique, hard-to-find airplanes, automobiles, boats and real estate.

The website allows buyers to seek specialized, high-value items by posting very specific criteria.

“As a collector of vintage cars and other collectibles, I’ve spent hours and hours online looking for very specific items through some traditional selling-focused websites. This can be frustrating and results are often limited,” says Michael Boyd, founder and president. “We are reversing the logic of a traditional marketplace like eBay by allowing buyers to list what they want in exact detail and have sellers of those items approach them directly if they have a matching item.”

The website also cuts out the middleman, which saves commissions, he said, adding that’s where the name comes in. “I certainly prefer no commissions,” he said.

Airplane details include type, price range, year, model, capacity, exterior color, wingspan, weight, height, performance items such as climb rate, speed and range, and more. Location may be specified also.

Use of the website is free for a limited time.
