Two congressional aviators have sent letters to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) expressing their concerns about the TSA‘s Large Aircraft Security Program.
Reps. Leonard Boswell (D-IA) and John Kline (R-MN), both pilots, called for a collaborative effort between government and industry on the development of security policies, the National Business Aviation Association reported to its members on March 17.
Not alone among lawmakers by any means, their expressions of concern were added to similar LASP comments made in letters to the DHS by members of Alaska’s congressional delegation, the state’s governor and members of the state legislature. The latter also introduced a resolution expressing opposition to the TSA’s plan.
