Free podcast for turbine pilots

By Janice Wood · March 27, 2009 ·

pilotpointsCAVU Companies has launched “Pilot Points,” a weekly audio podcast that focuses on turbine aircraft and pilot issues.

Each session, which is five to 10 minutes long, “discusses one important topic in a light and easy to follow format,” according to company officials.

Podcasts can be listened to online through a PC or downloaded to iPods or other mp3 players.

The host is James Deuvall who is presently the president and chief engineer of CAVU Companies. Prior to working at CAVU Companies, he served as a simulator instructor at a major flight training facility and has lectured extensively throughout the US on turbine performance training. He also is the author of “Aircraft Performance – Myths and Methods,” a book devoted to the many misconceptions pilots have regarding performance.

The podcast can be accessed through the CAVU website (CAVUcompanies.com) or through iTunes. A direct link to iTunes is found on the Pilot Points webpage along with a link to submit topic suggestions.
