CubCrafters unveils Super Sport Cub

By Janice Wood · April 1, 2009 ·

CubCrafters recently unveiled the Super Sport Cub, the company’s most powerful aircraft.

Available immediately, the LSA is a stronger and more powerful version of CubCrafters’ SportCubCrafters Super Cub  Cub S2, according to officials at the Yakima, Wash.-based company.

The two-place Super Sport Cub boasts the largest engine in the LSA industry, a 340 cubic inch engine producing up to 180 hp for takeoff and climb, and a continuous 80 hp at altitudes up to 12,000 feet, company officials report, adding the taildragger can be delivered with tundra tires, floats, or skis.

The LSA is powered by CubCrafters’ recently certified ASTM compliant engine, the CC340, developed in partnership with ECI.

Base price for the two place S-LSA certified Super Sport Cub starts at $163,280.
