US Flight Academy wins self examination authority

By Janice Wood · April 3, 2009 ·

The FAA has granted the US Flight Academy the right to self examination for its Part 141 training programs. As of May 1, the Denton, Texas, flight school is authorized to issue licenses and pilot upgrades without relying on the services of a Designated Pilot Examiner.

The Self Examination award is due in part to the 95% written and check ride pass rate that the academy had established, company officials said.

All oral exams and flight check rides will be handled by US Flight Academy staff. Written exams will be handled by its CATS testing facility.
