LiveAirShowTV’s first Internet broadcast of an air show for the 2009 season will be the Barksdale Air Force Base-Defenders of Liberty Air Show, in Shreveport, La., May 9-10.
“This is a new beginning in bringing the top air shows to people around the world,” said LiveAirShowTV founder and president, Jeff Lee. “We’re pleased to bring this technology which proved successful at the 2007 Nellis AFB air show to other shows around the country.
“There’s nothing like being on the ramp at an air show, but if that’s just impossible, it’s my job as a director to be the viewers’ eyes and ears for the event,” Lee continued. “At the end of the day I want our viewers to feel like they’ve actually been to the show. They’ll just miss the great air show food, and getting the t-shirt.”
Military demo teams from three countries will be featured at the show: The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will fly again this year, along with “Fat Albert,” the team’s C-130 support aircraft. The five-member Chilean air force team will fly their Extra 300s and the nine-member Canadian Snowbirds also will join the show. These teams will be joined by Greg Poe, Shockwave Jet Truck, Air Force Reserve’s Ed Hamill, E Team Skydivers, and Vintage Warbirds.
