beyerdynamic introduces new headset

By Janice Wood · April 16, 2009 ·

beyerdynamic600beyerdynamic will introduce at Sun ‘n Fun its 2009 HS 600 Digital Adaptive Noise Reduction (ANR) headset, available as a standard model and as a Manufaktur model (Build Your Own version).

The 2009 model includes improvements in the ANR technology as well as several upgrades, according to Alan Feckanin, business unit manager for beyerdynamic Aviation Products in the U.S.

“The HS 600 DANR is an evolving product for us,” he said. “With the Digital Adaptive Noise Reduction technology, we are able to continue to enhance this product both in comfort and with the ANR technology.”
Using a microprocessor to generate an intelligent algorithm, the DANR produces a counter sound required to cancel the surrounding noise. The normal white noise produced from analog noise reduction headsets does not occur using beyerdynamic’s DANR technology, according to company officials.

Price: $749. The headset is covered by a five-year warranty.

The beyerdynamic line now includes five models, including the passive HS 200 Individual, the HS 300 Individual and HS 600 DANR Individual.

The HS 300 also is available as a “Build Your Own” model utilizing the online configuator for Manufaktur located at Shop.beyerdynamic-USA.com/Aviation.
