American Champion adds EVS option

Forward Vision’s EVS-100 enhanced vision system is now available as an option on the entire line of American Champion Aircraft.

The system, which allows pilots to “see” at night and in limited visibility conditions, will be especially helpful for American Champion owners, who use the planes in backcountry operations, fish and wildlife patrol, fire-spotting, and other special-use flights, company officials said.

Pilots using the thermal imaging camera system are more likely to prevent runway incursions by clearly identifying runways, taxiways, buildings, parked aircraft, and people while taxiing, taking off and landing during night time and low visibility, noted Patrick Farrell, president and CEO of Forward Vision.
