PrayerFlight takes off

By Janice Wood · May 7, 2009 ·

PrayerFlight takes off today at noon, when more than 70 airplanes will fly over every state capital in the United States with folks onboard praying for our nation.

This is the second year for the 50 Capitals PrayerFlight, which was launched in 2008 by a group of pilots and “prayer warriors” in Bluffton, Ohio. The flights are in conjunction with the National Day of Prayer.

The flights are being carried out by volunteer pilots, in private airplanes carrying prayer warriors who are committed to the mission of PrayerFlight as directed by II Chronicles 7:14; “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

“This is our mission – to pray for our nation and to trust God to heal our nation,” said Jerry Cress, president of PrayerFlight.
