USMC’s Marine Week Open House at DuPage Airport

By Janice Wood · May 13, 2009 ·

DuPage Airport in West Chicago, Ill., will host a static display featuring the United States Marine Corp’s helicopters Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The static display will include the MV-22 Osprey, CH-46 Sea Knight, CH-53 Super Stallion and AH-1W Super Cobra.

The event is free and open to the public.

All this week, the Marine Corps have based helicopters at DuPage Airport to support the Marine Week celebration in Chicagoland. The Marine Week celebration was established to honor and recognize local Marines, their families and the cities they are from. Throughout the week, Marines will volunteer at local kitchens as well as visit schools and community parks to share their experiences with the community.
