Lancair’s Evolution takes to the air

Lancair International Inc. of Redmond, Ore., a manufacturer of high- performance kit planes, recently completed the successful first flight of its newest Evolution model.

lancairThe piston version of the Evolution aircraft is powered by Lycoming’s new iE2 series engine. The piston Evolution cruises at 270 knots and has a full fuel payload of 1,074 lbs., according to company officials.

The Evolution is Lancair’s newest pressurized four-place plane available in either a piston or turbine configuration.

Beginning June 18th, Lancair will showcase its Turbine Evolution aircraft during a cross-country tour.
