America’s first woman in space lands at San Diego Air & Space Museum

By Janice Wood · June 9, 2009 ·

Dr. Sally Ride, America’s first woman in space, will be at the San Diego Air & Space Museum June 13th for a talk and book signing.

Ride will share excerpts from her newest book “Mission: Planet Earth,” which introduces young people to the changes taking place in the Earth’s climate.

The companion book, “Mission: Save the Planet,” is a guide packed with practical things to do to lessen our impact on Earth, such as conserving energy at home, at school, and around town. Both of these books, and other books written by Ride, will be available for purchase. Only books sold at this event will be signed.
