Follow Sporty’s on Facebook and Twitter

By Janice Wood · June 9, 2009 ·

Sporty’s Pilot Shop is part of the growing group of companies that have found Facebook and Twitter to be effective ways to interact with its customers.

“We’ve always known we have loyal customers,” said Sporty’s President Michael Wolf, “but now many of these customers are official friends and followers.”

Sporty’s has been sending Tweets for several months now, providing information about new products, specials, and free offers from Sporty’s Pilot Shop. Sporty’s also includes items on airport activities, flight training and aircraft management provided at its Clermont County/Sporty’s Airport (I69). Sporty’s Twitter ID is sportys, and Tweets may be read at Twitter.com/Sportys.

“Pilots are always on the go, so communicating with them through Facebook and Twitter is ideal,” added Wolf. “What’s more, pilots have always embraced new technology.”

Sporty’s Facebook page is a place where Sporty’s employees can interact with customers. Video clips are posted there from both the educational DVDs, as well as happenings at Sporty’s and in and around Sporty’s/Clermont County Airport. There is also a calendar, with events like ground school classes, fly-ins and more.

“We also invite our Facebook friends to visit our wall to see what’s happening at Sporty’s and post any information they would like about products or videos,” says Wolf.

Sporty’s Facebook page can be found at Sportys.com/Facebook.
