Discovery Channel discovers San Diego Air & Space Museum

By Janice Wood · June 10, 2009 ·

Leonardo da Vinci recreations from the popular Discovery Channel Show, “Doing DaVinci,” recently joined the San Diego Air & Space Museum’s exhibition, The Da Vinci Experience.

“We truly appreciate the Discovery Channel’s partnership,” said Jim Kidrick, museum president. “What they’ve given to us permanently are one-of-a-kind da Vinci recreations – no one has ever built and tested, full-size, his designs before. They add significantly to our already world-class exhibit experience…we’re very fortunate they considered us, for our local community and for those visiting from around the world.”

Arranged into three categories -transportation, military, and mechanical – the interactive models in The Da Vinci Experience are complemented by reproductions of 12 of da Vinci’s most famous paintings.

“Doing DaVinci” airs Monday nights at 10 p.m. on the Discovery Channel.
