Sporty’s to award SkyCatcher for 2010 Sweepstakes

By Janice Wood · June 15, 2009 ·

Sporty’s Pilot Shop again teams up with Cessna and Garmin to award a customer a new Cessna 162 SkyCatcher equipped with Garmin G300 avionics for its 2010 Sweepstakes.

sportysskycatcher1Cessna is planning initial deliveries this fall, so the Sporty’s SkyCatcher Sweepstakes airplane will be one of the first chances for customers to see this pace-setting aircraft. In addition to the proprietary Garmin G300 avionics package, thrust is provided by a composite propeller mated to the Continental O-200D engine developed specifically for the Light Sport market.

“We chose the SkyCatcher for our next Sweepstakes because it is the ultimate personal airplane,” said Sporty’s President Michael Wolf. “Plus, its glass panel avionics makes the airplane state of the art.”

Any order placed with Sporty’s until May 10, 2010, will enter the customer as a potential winner of the Sweepstakes airplane. The winner will be announced at Sporty’s annual Fly-In, scheduled for May 15, 2010.

The SkyCatcher will mark the 28th aircraft awarded in Sporty’s annual Sweepstakes.
