New Garmin manuals debut

By Janice Wood · June 30, 2009 ·

ZD Publishing, Inc. has added new “pilot-friendly” manuals for the Garmin GPSmap 696 and G900X to its inventory.

696The manuals make it easy for newcomers to learn all the facets of their units, according to author John Dittmer. “Now that you have made a considerable investment in a navigation tool and information source, learn easily how to configure the unit to your liking and access its many features,” he said.900

The table of contents lists all the operations and the appendixes describe each page and all the menu items. Go to the desired page to find step-by-step directions to accomplish the selected operation or a full explanation of the options and/or settings.

Dittmer began flying in 1968 and earned his flight instructor certificate that same year. ATP rated in airplanes and helicopters, he is a ground, flight and simulator instructor with 9,000 hours of accident-free flying. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
