Erie Airport Economic Development Council takes off

By Janice Wood · July 17, 2009 ·

A group of community leaders and businesses in Erie, Colo., have formed the Erie Airport Economic Development Council (EAEDC).

The non-profit’s group mission is to maximize the value of the Erie Municipal Airport and its economic impact for the benefit of the Town of Erie and its citizens.

“We have a great asset in an airport that contributes more than $12 million to the local economy, and we want to build awareness about it and expand its impact,” notes Scott deLuise, chairman and a founding EAEDC member. “With industry-leading companies like Rocky Mountain Propeller, Vector Air, Aero Systems and others already thriving at the airport, we know that other companies can locate here and succeed, as well, creating high-paying jobs for local residents, along with tax revenue.”
