Weldon debuts new fuel pump

By Janice Wood · July 21, 2009 ·

Weldon Pump recently unveiled a new, electric continuous-duty boost/emergency fuel pump created for Cessna applications.

weldonA direct replacement for the Dukes intermittent-duty pump, the new Weldon 18000 provides boost support to the aircraft’s main mechanical pump. Alternatively, it can be used as a fuel emergency pump, according to officials with the Cleveland-based company. The pump is equipped with all-metallic internal pumping components, notably tool steel blades instead of Nyltralon plastic blades, officials note.

Additional configurations are being tested on various aircraft, and a two-speed model is expected to be unveiled later in 2009, company officials added.

The new Weldon 18000 pump, will it pull a 10ft head? The size is what
I need for a sampling kit that will sample from catch basins after
washing down jets. I trust it will handle any JP jet fuel.
    Please advise.

    Thank You,
