Is it time for a security scoring system at GA airports?
A recent post by John Infanger of Airport Business Magazine shines light on the concept, which he heard about from two security professionals, Bob Jandebeur, a former FBO operator who now heads his own security firm, and John Sullivan, a former chair of the NBAA security council, who also heads his own firm. The two recently teamed up and came up with the idea of giving airports a score for their security efforts. The higher the score, obviously, the better.
But what’s really behind these efforts? In the post, Jandebeur is quoted as saying:
“I’m not trying to protect you from the terrorists, I’m trying to protect us from ourselves and the TSA climbing down our throats with more expensive endeavors than what we really need.”
