Simulator association in the works

By Janice Wood · August 20, 2009 ·

Glass Simulator Center at Aurora Municipal Airport in Illinois has launched an effort to form a new GA simulator training association.

The organization’s goals will be to raise awareness of the value of general aviation simulator training, provide a forum for the providers of flight-simulation devices, training programs and support services, and to advance the effectiveness of simulator training.

According the Dave Rosebraugh, Glass Simulator Center’s CEO and the driving force behind the new organization, “General aviation simulator-based flight training has reached the point where it now can provide the benefits heretofore enjoyed only by the airlines, corporate flight departments and the military. However, general aviation pilots are largely unaware of the incredible advances that have been made in this area and they unfortunately underutilize this safety-enhancing resource. This new organization will work to change that paradigm and, as a result, significantly improve general aviation’s safety record.”
