The Sporty’s Foundation recently awarded three scholarships to students in the University of Cincinnati’s Professional Pilot Program.

The scholarships were awarded to the top three incoming sophomore students: Abdelaziz Akkoub ($15,000); Sophie Gilgean ($10,000); and Patrick Spare ($5000).
The University of Cincinnati’s Professional Pilot Program combines two years of college general studies with flight training. After completion, the students receive an FAA Commercial Pilot certificate and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Aviation Technology. Upon receiving an Associate Degree, students are eligible to continue their education and obtain a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from U.C.’s College of Business Administration. Qualified students who graduate from the aviation program often work as flight instructors at Sporty’s Academy while they earn their BBA.
The Sporty’s Foundation’s mission is to help secure the future of general aviation by providing assistance to aviation education and safety programs, with an emphasis on youth.
