Wood working workshop offered

Blue Swallow Aircraft is offering a two-day class in historical aircraft wood working at its workshop in Keswick, Va., Sept. 12-13.

The program includes instructions in wood selection, grading and cutting to size from rough planks, jig building, proper procedures for steaming and bending wood, the selection of adhesives and other wood fasteners, and splicing of spars and other wood structures correctly.

The class is open to anyone who is interested in building aircraft, but is limited to six people. Cost per person is $300, which includes hand-outs and all materials.
