Silver Ace named Legend Cub dealer

By Janice Wood · August 27, 2009 ·

American Legend Aircraft Co. has named Silver Ace Aviation of Peachtree City, Georgia, a dealer for the company’s Legend Cub certified Light Sport Aircraft. Silver Ace Aviation will provide a wide range of services including U.S. sales, service, and training to Legend Cub operators in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North and South Carolina.

LegendSilver Ace Aviation was founded in 1930, providing flight training to pilots in and around Monroe, Michigan. Its founders, Col. Lee and Nan Mercure, were two of America’s original “barnstormers,” providing rides and shows throughout the North Central United States. This experience led Lee to a career with the Civil Aeronautics Authority (which later became the FAA) in Atlanta.

Bill Mercure, son of the founders, resurrected Silver Ace Aviation in 1980. Located today at Falcon Field (KFFC), in Peachtree City, Silver Ace Aviation provides maintenance and repair services for general aviation and corporate aircraft owners and operators in the Atlanta and North Georgia area.
