The Wathen Foundation and Flabob Airport will host a one-day Veteran’s Day celebration Nov. 7.
The day’s activities begin at 9 a.m. Included on the schedule are fly-overs and fly-ins by a wide variety of antique, classic, homebuilt and warbird aircraft, in addition to modern general aviation aircraft. There will be static displays on the field, vendors, hands-on activities for adults and children and up to three bands playing at one time. The Army will set up special displays including scaling walls and simulators.
There will be a stage area that will feature comedians, musicians, and martial arts displays. A wide variety of foods will be available throughout the day. At noon there will be a special ceremony honoring all branches of the service. That will be followed by a parade and veterans will be the featured guests in the parade.
Throughout the day, it will be possible to buy airplane rides in an N3N or J-3 Cub.
