Florida Air Museum offers free admission

By Janice Wood · September 21, 2009 ·

On Saturday, Sept. 26, the Florida Air Museum on the Sun ‘n Fun campus at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport (LAL), will participate in the 5th annual Museum Day presented by Smithsonian magazine.

The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Museum Day. Throughout Museum Day, the Florida Air Museum will extend a 20% discount on its one-year membership to all new or lapsed members who visit the museum and sign up during Museum Day hours. Member benefits include discounts on tickets and merchandise plus free or reduced admissions to more than 300 other museums and science centers.

Museum Day attendees must present Smithsonian magazine’s Museum Day Admission Card to gain free entry to participating institutions. The card also can be found in the September 2009 issue of Smithsonian magazine. Each card provides free museum access for two people. Only one admission card is permitted per household.
