NBAA offers electronic APIS compliance

By Janice Wood · September 24, 2009 ·

Through a partnership with ARINC Direct Business Aviation Solutions, NBAA is offering its members a new option for complying with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) requirements.

All private and commercial aircraft must provide passenger and aircraft information prior to departure for international flights to or from the U.S. The electronic APIS service meets all regulatory requirements and has been approved by CBP.

This online tool allows members to submit, modify and store APIS data for future use, and includes many time-saving features: All crew, passenger and aircraft information is stored on secure ARINC servers; members can access technical support provided by the ARINC Direct operations center 24 hours per day, seven days a week; members can make APIS transmissions for flights operated under both Part 91 and Part 135; confirmation messages from CBP may be automatically forwarded to multiple e-mail accounts; real-time approval status of all APIS transmissions is available; additional features include calculation of U.S. border crossing location, conversion of entry date/time to the correct time zone, and airport identifier lookup.

Members can access this service for $25 per international flight without incurring account setup charges.
