FAA certifies Raisbeck/Hartzell Quiet Turbofan Performance props for King Airs

By Janice Wood · October 19, 2009 ·

Raisbeck Engineering’s 4-blade Quiet Turbofan Propellers for aircraft equipped with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 are now available for immediate delivery.

Raisbeck/Hartzell 4-blade Quiet Turbofan Propellers, the heart of the Epic Platinum and C90 Epic Performance System, bring increased FAA-approved performance to both the B200GT and C90GTi aircraft, including increased gross weight (to 10,500 lb for the C90GTi), improved takeoff, climb, cruise, and landing performance (for both models), according to Raisbeck officials.

Raisbeck Engineering certification engineers, working with the FAA, have obtained approval of the required Aircraft Flight Manual Supplements (AFMS), which now include a placard above the Pro Line 21 Adaptive Flight Display (AFD) screens, informing operators of the change in performance.

According to CEO James Raisbeck, “The increased performance from our Quiet Turbofan Propellers has remained the same since we first certified them in 1984. What’s different here is the pilot’s display. Vmc is contained within the classic round-dial airspeed indicators. Vmc on the Collins Pro Line 21 display is shown as a red horizontal line on the airspeed tape. We’ve added a placard. Nothing else is changed.”

Raisbeck performance systems are available worldwide for purchase and installation at any Hawker Beechcraft Service Center, as well as at Raisbeck’s Independent Authorized Dealers. Over 6,000 Raisbeck systems have been installed since 1982.
