LSA stars in Neiman Marcus Christmas Book

By Janice Wood · October 28, 2009 ·

ICON 2Featured in this year’s Neiman Marcus Christmas Book is a “His & Hers Gift Package” that includes an ICON A5 amphibious Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) with custom trailer and Sport Pilot license training for two.

Now in development, the ICON A5 is from a team of engineers and designers who helped create the Virgin Global Flyer and SpaceShipOne. Expected to be available in 2011, the ICON will run on automotive gasoline or avgas, have a range of 300 nm, and feature “spy-movie” wings that rotate up and fold back out of the way, according to the Christmas Book.

ICONs sold through the Christmas Book will sport exclusive Neiman Marcus exterior and interior luxury upgrades, officials said, adding the custom, high-tech trailer is designed for fast and easy loading and unloading from land or water.

“Load ‘your’ song onto an MP3 player and slip it into the dashboard dock and there it is, the perfect way to float through the clouds, just the two of you,” the Christmas Book promises.

Price for all this? $250,000.
