Services were held Nov. 1 for June Maule, the matriarch of Maule Air, Inc., who died Oct. 29, following a brief illness. She was 92 years old.
“The same day we also lost her son Gary, at age 57, from leukemia,” said an e-mail sent out by the Maule family. “They were very close in life and we are blessed to know they are together.”
June Maule was an institution for more than 4o years in Moultrie, Ga., according to the local newspaper, the Moultrie Observer, which ran a story, “Friends remember June Maule,” on Oct. 31.
The story notes that:
“She and her husband, B.D., ran the company together until his death in 1995 and she continued on as the president. Over the years she has worked in almost every aspect of building their airplanes.
“I’ve done everything involved in building an airplane except welding. I’ve sewn the upholstery, helped with covering, run lathes, and even helped with the forming of windshields when we still made them in the factory. That’s how Mr. Maule and I did it. We worked together.”

Can someone at General Aviation news please email me a full size of that picture? I’ve never seen that one before, that’s the way I will always remember her, even in the later years, she would drive herself from her house on property, and sit at her desk and sort the mountain of junk mail that would come in, then the extremely fat office cat would come in, and lie in the middle of what she was sorting, right on her desk.
