AirGator has introduced the latest additions to its NAVPad family of electronic flight bags (EFBs), the NAVPad 8X and 10X, which utilize the newest high performance, low power consumption Intel ATOM processor at 1.6GHz — up to three times faster than the previous generation of NAVPads with significantly longer battery life and lower power consumption, according to company officials.

The new products also are configured standard with 2GB RAM – double the memory available in previous versions. By utilizing industrial solid state drive (SSD) components rather than lower cost flash drives, these aviation-grade EFBs feature a 10 year disk life. “Most off the shelf commercial EFBs with flash solid-state drives begin to degrade after six month to one year in real-life use,” said Amir Tirosh, president of AirGator.

NAVPad X EFBs run Windows compatible programs and work with both FAA and Jeppesen data and available software and can be custom configured with additional cockpit productivity software, including electronic logs, manuals, weight and balance and performance calculators, dispatch communications applications, email and more.

A base configuration of the NAVPad 8X starts at $3,280. The NAVPad 10X starts at $3,660.
