Collins launches online column

By Janice Wood · November 29, 2009 ·

With 20 years of working with Sporty’s under his belt, Dick Collins has turned his attention to writing an online column which will be posted at Sportys.com. Collins will post on a variety of aviation topics with the same experience and insight he has shared with the GA community for the past 50 years.

Known equally for his many years as editor and then columnist with Flying magazine as well as for his Air Facts series of video programs for Sporty’s, Collins’ many fans and followers will appreciate the expertise his thousands of hours of flying provide, Sporty’s officials said. Readers will be able to respond to Collins’ columns by writing online comments.

Sporty’s recently published Collins’ book, “The Next Hour,” named for what Collins says is the most important hour in a pilot’s logbook. “It’s only the next hour that counts,” he says.

The Next Hour is available for $24.95 exclusively from Sporty’s. Sporty’s Air Facts Video Series, along with The Next Hour, are available as a special combination for $125.
