Tickets to ‘Living Legends’ awards available

By Janice Wood · December 10, 2009 ·

The seventh Annual “Living Legends of Aviation” Awards tickets are now available. Presented by Learjet, the awards dinner is often referred to as the “Academy Awards of Aviation. With last year’s advance reservations and event sponsor tickets assigned, there are  less than 200 tickets available, organizers note.On Dec. 18, organizers will make any remaining tickets available to last year’s wait list and then to the general public. The event sells out every year, organizers add.

The “Living Legends of Aviation” Awards are produced by the Kiddie Hawk Air Academy, a non-profit association whose mission is to educate and inspire today’s youth and create tomorrow’s aviators and legends. Ticket purchases are tax deductible.

The event will be held Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.

This year, the event will honor Dr. Buzz Aldrin with the “First Out of This World Landing and Take Off Award,” and President George H.W. Bush with the “Freedom of Flight Award.” Other awards include the “Aviation Industry Leader of the Year,” “Aviation Entrepreneur of the Year,” “Lifetime Aviation Entrepreneur,” and several more.
