Jet seals deal for Garth Brooks to headline in Vegas

By Janice Wood · December 15, 2009 ·

Garth Brooks opened as a headliner last weekend at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas, brought out of retirement when Steve Wynn offered the megastar the use of a private jet so he could fly back to Oklahoma to be with his three daughters.

In a story in the Las Vegas Review Journal, Brook is quoted as saying:

“The plane was the whole thing,” said the country superstar, who “retired” in 2001, vowing not to tour again until his youngest daughter, now 13, graduates from high school. When Brooks explained his commitment to his family, Wynn offered the plane, something “no one else had thought of, what I hadn’t even thought of,” Brooks said, adding “You could say he was business-savvy. I’d say he gave a damn enough to think that way. That’s kind of what melted my heart.”
